Back when I first decided to try selling at a convention, I drew a feathercats series to make into prints and stickers. I could only muster the motivation to do the characters… decent backgrounds were beyond my ability, both energy-wise and technical-skill-wise. But instead of despairing and scrapping them because I couldn’t make them as nice as I hoped, I went ahead and made prints of them anyway, simplistic backgrounds and all… and people still loved them! It taught me a lot about toxic perfectionism and the value of “good enough.”
I now have both increased motivation and increased technical skill, so I went back and spruced up the backgrounds on the feathercats. The eagret is my personal favorite out of the bunch!
