v1 cutie vs v2 cutie. v2 was supposed to be “oh, I’ll just quickly make the eyes and feathers separate pieces! Then it will be easy to airbrush and will save so much time!” Cue 30 hours of bashing my head against Blender because this turns out to be no small task and every time I tried to boolean the pieces the mesh would explode. I spent 300 years doing retopo bullshit so the mesh would be nice and it STILL exploded.
I also didn’t realize how SMALL the pieces would be. The eyes are the same diameter as a cross-section of a grain of rice. The feather pieces fell through the basket of my wash-and-cure and a feather broke off, and one of the ear stalks broke too just because it’s so thin and delicate. Definitely need to revisit how I do this.
Also, both of these were supposedly done with the same white resin. Only difference is that the left one was done with the “1kg” size, and the right one was done with “2kg”. Insane variation between batches. I might have to find a different brand.
